About the Route
The complete Brasla river journey, paddling from Rozula all the way to where the Brasla meets the Gauja over two days. Day one covers the upper river's intimate forest section, with clear spring-fed water and quiet forest banks. Day two picks up pace as the Brasla widens toward its confluence, offering more active stretches and the drama of two great rivers meeting. A night camping on the riverside completes the experience. This is the definitive Brasla route, showing every side of the river's character — from quiet upper reaches to the lively lower section within Gauja National Park.
What You'll See Along the Way
Gauja National Park tributary
The Brasla is one of the most beautiful tributaries of the Gauja, flowing through undisturbed forest within Gauja National Park before joining the main river.
Crystal-clear forest river
Fed by springs and forest streams, the Brasla has exceptionally clear water and a swift current that keeps the paddling lively throughout.
Quiet and wild character
Far from roads and development, the Brasla offers a true wilderness feel — expect beavers, kingfishers and complete forest silence.
