About the Route
The lower Ogre river from Lēdmane to Ogre town over two days, a varied and pleasant route through central Latvia's forest and meadow landscape. The river here is wider than the upper reaches, flowing with a gentle current suitable for all experience levels, including families. Occasional swift stretches break up the calm paddling without creating real difficulty. The route finishes in Ogre town, easily accessible by train from Rīga, making logistics straightforward. At 25 kilometres over two days, the pace is unhurried with plenty of time to swim and explore along the way. A good mid-distance option for those new to multi-day paddling.
