About the Route
The Gauja National Park's most celebrated two-day route, linking two of Latvia's most beloved towns. Day one follows the river from Cēsis through dramatic sandstone cliff scenery to Līgatne, with a night spent camping on a forested riverbank. Day two continues through the deepening gorge to Sigulda, passing ancient cliffs, beaver-dammed side channels and bird-rich forest throughout. The route ends in Sigulda, surrounded by Turaida Castle, medieval ruins and some of Latvia's most dramatic valley views. A perfect balance of scenery, wildlife and historic towns — the most popular multi-day route in the country.
